Borneo Jazz Festival … An Enchanting Fusion of Music and Adventure.

Borneo Jazz Festival which was formerly called Miri Jazz Festival is a 2 days annual event held in Miri, Sarawak on the first week of May.

The event which is organised by the Sarawak Tourism Board assembled regionally and internationally recognised jazz musicians.

The event brings together different styles and exotic version of jazz musicians from USA, Brazil, France, China, Holland, Malaysia, Canada, Japan and India.

The 2 days event features great jazz, funky, Latin, Oriental jazz, Carribean roots and blue. Each groups or musician have their own style and music preferences. The event provides a venue for the participants to exchange ideas, share knowledge and maybe a future collaboration.

Beside the evening concerts by the participants, the 2 days event is filled with craftwork display, selling of souvenir and event’s merchandise and also food and beverage. There is also Sarawak Traditional Craft demonstration by local craftsman and artisan.

The re-imaging of the festival is in time to reflect the growing stature of the festival among the leading jazz festivals in the region and positioning Sarawak as a unique venue among jazz aficionados.

  • Yuichiro Tokudais – Japan.

The Borneo Jazz Festival is organised with the aim to be the leading tourism –driven music festival in the region and drawing visitors to Miri and the Northern Region of Sarawak.
